Who we are

BasicDeploy is operated by Akacia, a company registered in the Netherlands (KVK 99629569). We are the controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].

What we collect

Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). Operational data: information about the containers you create — names, sizes, status and timestamps — plus API, SSH and web-request activity, container logs, and technical data such as IP address and basic browser/device information used to operate and secure the service. Billing data (paid plans only): your subscription and plan status and a customer identifier from our payment processor. Analytics data: with your consent, usage information collected via cookies and Google Analytics.

Your code and data

The files, databases and objects inside your containers belong to you. We do not read them, analyse them, or use them to train anything. Staff access is limited to what is required to operate the service and to respond to a support request you have made.

Credentials

Database passwords, storage keys and SSH private keys are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and are only ever returned to the account that owns the container. Sharing a container with someone grants scoped access but does not reveal the container's own database or storage credentials to them.

Payments

Paid plans and add-ons are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details are entered on Stripe's systems and are handled by Stripe under its own privacy terms — we do not receive or store your full card number. We store only what we need to manage your subscription, such as your Stripe customer identifier and plan status.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies (for example, to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choices). We also use Google Analytics to understand how the service is used, but only after you consent through the cookie banner; until then, analytics and advertising storage stay disabled (Google Consent Mode). You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via the banner.

Why we process your data and the legal bases

We process your data to provide and maintain the service and your account (performance of our contract with you), to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (our legitimate interests), to take payment for paid plans (contract and legal obligation), and for analytics (your consent). Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run BasicDeploy, acting as our processors: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (DNS, CDN and security), Google (analytics, subject to your consent), our email provider (to send account and transactional emails), and our hosting provider. Each processes data only on our instructions.

International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Some providers (for example Google Analytics) may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the service. Deleting a container destroys its database, its storage bucket and its files. Deleting your account removes your email address and every container attached to it, and schedules any active subscription to cancel at the end of the paid period. These actions are not reversible. We may retain a limited set of records, such as billing and invoice data, where we are legally required to.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw analytics consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the updated version takes effect when posted. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact Akacia at [email protected].
